SciTechWaves: Interview with Dr. Simon Balm

Dr. Simon Balm is a passionate and distinguished astronomer and physical chemist specializing in the chemical composition of the universe. He was raised near London, England and received a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Sussex. He was awarded a NATO scholarship for a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles. He subsequently joined the Harvard and Smithsonian Institute team to build and place a radio telescope at the South Pole. Dr. Balm relates his incredible experiences at the South Pole where he lived for one year. Dr. Balm has visited Antarctica many times and also teaches astronomy and chemistry at Santa Monica College. www.smc.edu
